Holy Masque Expansion: A Landmark Achievement in Global Worship Spaces | Hanthel Consulting

The Grand Mosque is a revered landmark that surrounds one of the most sacred sites in the world- The Kaaba. As both the largest and oldest mosque globally with a four thousand-year history behind it- it recently underwent substantial changes under “King Abdullah Haram Expansion” Project to accommodate more worshipers comfortably. This unique project amounted to US$22 billion allowing for new pray-yards, walkways, and tunnels as well as the development of existing facility services so that they can now support over 2 million congregants at any given time throughout all seasons.

Achieving this level of consistent user-friendliness required meticulous planning because most parts are open-air; therefore, weatherproofing measures had to be implemented correctly to avoid inconveniencing or harming users using these water bodies.
